From 2 to 5 June we participated in the Right to the City congress in Hamburg. We were invited to carry impart called “Participate against Participation”, which is the result of our ongoing research into participation dynamics or, better still, into how Power imposes itself through civic participation processes. We’re carrying out this research in conjunction with our friends Nine2Five, an activist and artists collective who have been our comrades in arms for years.
The workshop was a success. A lot of people turned up, and it produced some great dynamics and very thought-provoking discussions. This research is leading into a project that we’re almost ready to announce. For now, here are some photographs of the action that took place during the congress, a symbolic occupation of a shopping mall, as well as some photos of our workshop.
